Kampala-Entebbe Expressway

The Kampala-Entebbe Expressway did not only bring a safer and faster route between Kampala and Entebbe, it also brought new opportunities, to see and experience parts of this beautiful region we never have. Sadly most see these beauties in the comfort of their lofty cars or on the back of boda’s as they zoom along the expressway. On 9th November, 2022, with most of my gear, I’ll share details on in another post, I braved the storm-threatening weather in search of these beauties. Below is an account of my experience. All images taken with the Nikon D500.


The Setup

The setup for the first set of images and the blog’s feature image. This is along the flyover that connects to Munyonyo Martyr’s Shrine.

Look Left, Right then Left Again

Crossing the expressway is no easy task. This was the beginning of the end. Heading back home

Looks like no one actually reads the signposts.

This little guy is making use of the numerous road reserve markers posted along the entire length of the Munyonyo to Kajjansi leg of the expressway

Perched on some branches, this was the closest I got while trying not to spook the little guy.

Kaggwa Bridge

The only bridge on the shortened leg on of the expressway, this 425m bridge connects Munyonyo to Busabala.
